“Gallery KH is pleased to present Landscapes: Bring the Light a collection of gallery artists working in bright palettes in their exploration of the landscape. Bring the Light opens January 6, 2012 through February 20, 2012. An opening night cocktail reception is scheduled for Friday, January 6, 5-8PM. All gallery events are free and open to the public. The interesting thing about a group show is that you get to see how each artist will interpret a particular theme. We are especially excited to see everyone’s interpretation of Bring the Light. We’ve seen some of the pieces and they are all very much bright and uplifting works. It should be a beautiful collaboration and very apropos for the time of year as our winters can get dark, so let’s Bring the Light.”

New works by CHIARA NO. Chiara No’s practice is to redefine and re-construct materials by stripping them of their original purpose and cultural significance, therefor reducing them to objects qua objects. Through the recalibration of these objects, she intends to illicit pure aesthetic seduction. The objects avoid didacticism and social critique; not out of anti-intellectualism, but rather out of an indifference towards intellect.

-Sunday January, 8th-

ACRE Projects
1913 W 17th St Chicago, IL 60608
Ukranian Village

Opening reception January 8th, 4-8PM
Closes January 9th

New works by MELISSA DAMASAUSKAS, ASHLEY HUDSON & LEONARDO KAPLAN ACCUMULATIONS highlights the work of three artists intricately involved in the ACRE residency kitchen with disparate practices connected by a tendency toward collecting, obsession and re-assemblage. Melissa Damasauskas’ Fireplace Fetish is a hearth constructed of soft quilted bricks forming the “log cabin” pattern, a traditional quilt pattern centered around a red “hearth” and representing the log cabin.
