The festival features work by fine artists from throughout the Midwest, as well as from as far away as Arizona, California, Florida, and Hawaii. In addition to fun activities for the whole family, the Festival Food Court serves a variety of culinary delights, including Cajun, Mexican, and Mediterranean dishes as well as refreshing Italian Ice, soft serve ice cream, and ripe fruit smoothies.
A top-notch entertainment lineup features performances by Alfonso Ponticelli & Swing Gitan, Paul Cebar, Henhouse Prowlers, Paulinho Garcia, Incendio, Lucy Smith, James Sanders, John Goldman’s QUADRANGLE, and more. Arts and crafts activities for the kids will include mask-making, face-painting, organic sculpture building, unicyclists, and jugglers.
Healthy foods company Kashi returns this year with its Day of Change Tour, featuring tips for healthy living, food sampling, exercises, and natural personal care samples from Burt’s Bees. Other festival sponsors include Renewal by Andersen, Quince Restaurant and The Homestead Hotel, Chicago Reader, Evanston RoundTable, and the Illinois Arts Council.
The region’s premiere destination for fine art, relaxing music, delicious food, and unique children’s crafts, the Evanston Lakeshore Arts Festival takes place each year on the first weekend in August on Evanston’s stunning, historic lakefront at Dawes Park, located along Sheridan Road at Church Street.
