MAKING WAVES: Silent Auction Benefits Chicago-area Breast Cancer Survivor Organization Recovery on Water (ROW)
Chicago, IL – Local artists Alison Rhoades and Angela Bryant of Abryant Gallery present MAKING WAVES: A silent art auction benefiting Recovery on Water (ROW). This creative show and silent auction features various local artists who have donated pieces related to the healing properties of water, with proceeds benefiting ROW. Recovery on Water (www.recoveryonwater.org) is a rowing team that gives survivors of breast cancer the unique opportunity to interact, become active in their recovery, and gain support from fellow survivors.
The event will take place Friday, July 23 from 6-10 pm at Temple Gallery, located in the Pilsen Artists District at 1749 South Halsted. General Admission is $10 and a VIP Reception begins at 5:00PM. VIP admission is $25, and includes a guided tour of MAKING WAVES, led by co-curators Alison Rhoades and Angela Bryant. The event features a meet and greet with artists, cocktails & hors d’oeuvres. Recovery on Water began as a collaboration between Sue Ann Glaser, an Evanston breast cancer survivor, and Jenn Gibbons, a rowing coach at Ignatius Chicago Crew (ICC). Other partnerships include Imerman Angels, Gilda’s Club, The Skokie Park District, The Lincoln Park Boat Club, and My Sassy Sleeve. ROW provides an environment and opportunity for Chicago’s survivors to get fit, fight back, and have fun.
