6th Annual Online Self Portrait Exhibition begins July 16, 2010

The National Self-Portrait Exhibition has become one of our most viewed and anticipated exhibitions to date. Now in its 6th year, the self-portrait exhibition will be a two-part exhibit. Our guest juror Tami Miller has selected 45 works for the gallery and 100 works for a permanent online exhibition.

Juror:
Tami Miller, Director of Exhibitions and Collections, KRASL Art Center, MI

Tami Miller is the Director of Exhibitions and Collections for the Krasl Art Center in St. Joseph, Michigan. Originally from Duluth, Minnesota, Miller’s inland career has travelled along three of the five great lakes (Superior, Erie and Michigan) as well as the Mississippi River.

Miller received her BFA from the University of Minnesota Duluth. After travel abroad and a variety of work experiences, from waiting tables to promotional writing, she worked at the Minnesota Museum of American Art in St. Paul, Minnesota for three years. Miller moved to Cleveland, Ohio in 2003 where she received her MA in art history and museum studies from Case Western Reserve University. She is currently a doctoral candidate in American art history, pre-World War II, at CWRU.

Miller has a variety of art experiences ranging from freelance art writing, teaching art history at the university level, working in museum education and curating exhibitions, both independently and institutionally. She has written for such publications as Cleveland’s Scene, Free Times and Angle magazine, reviewing historical to contemporary art exhibitions, including artworks by Eadweard Muybridge, Jasper Johns, Amy Cutler and Trenton Doyle Hancock. Miller has researched artworks for the Cleveland Museum of Art and taught at both Kent State and the University of Akron, Ohio.
