As an artists who does 15-20 art fairs a year, I have a few comments about your list. First I would say to attend juried shows with an admission, these will be the best quality shows. Free shows are usually street fairs and not always juried. Make sure it is a high quality show.. As an artist I feel it is insulting to try and negotiate a price discount. These shows are very expensive for the artists: the booth fees, travel costs, hotel, etc. The hours are long and I find that some people will make insulting comments about your work and not care that they have hurt my feelings. Artists are by nature very sensitive, it is very stressful to have to be nice to some one who has just told you that their 14 year old could do the same thing...You will see lots of work. Stop and talk to the artists whose work moves you. And yes buy what you love.
