CAM Weekend Listings
Stephanie Burke here, Managing Editor of this fair magazine, head honcho of Art Talk Chicago, Bad at Sports contributor, and self-same author of The Gallery Crawl and So Much More. Again, I bring you the beauty of the CAM Weekend Picks.
It’s getting close to my wedding anniversary (the legal one, not the naked running around a fire one), which always brings to mind the old adage: “Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.” So I give you:
Something Old -
Concertina Gallery - 2351 N. Milwaukee Ave., 2nd fl. Live Forever, work by Marty Burns, Dave Dyment, Elise Goldstein, Megan Hildebrandt, Jason Lazarus, Tibi Tibi Neuspiel, and Ruben Nusz. Reception 7-10pm. 5/15-5/26.
Well established in the apartment gallery scene, Concertina closes forever after this final show.
Something New -
Columbia College Glass Curtain Gallery – 1104 S. Wabash. 2010 MFA Photography Thesis Exhibition. Reception 4-7pm. 5/14-6/11.
Come see these brand-spankin’-new, freshly minted MFAs strut their stuff.
Something Borrowed -
Black Market – 1026 N. Milwaukee Ave. After Eggleston, work by Yvette Marie Dostatni and Alexandra Dietz. Reception 6-9pm. 5/14-5/31.
Two Chicago photo kids borrow from Eggleston.
Something Blue -
Iceberg – 7714 N. Sheridan Rd. Frozen Music, work by Robert MacNeill. Reception 6-9pm. 5/15-6/19.
Blue AND weird looking. Can’t go wrong with that.
