The Promenade of Art returns to Arlington Heights is this weekend: Saturday, June 26 and Sunday, June 27 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Promenade is a community tradition for art lovers. Since its launch in 2003, it has quickly become an important art fair in the summer schedule. More than 20,000 art enthusiasts travel each year to this northwestern suburb to view more than 150 juried artists from around the country and Canada.

Produced in cooperation with the Village of Arlington Heights, the festival offers works in a variety of mediums including, ceramics, fiber, glass, jewelry, sculpture, mixed media, paintings, drawings, photography, printmaking, wood and furniture. Prices for artwork range from $25 to $2,000.

Hands-on projects for children are included with the festivities, including a large mural upon which artists of all ages are welcome to contribute.
The festival is FREE, (with free parking at Metra stations) and open to the public. It includes a live music stage and dance area, with music by Chicagoland’s top acoustic band Cirrus Falcon, as well as French guitarist Michelet Innocent.  Food choices range from Ashby’s Ice Cream, Greek Flame Food, Saigon Bangkok, Tornado Potatoes, Miss Kitty, Marino’s Kitchen and, of course, fresh lemonade will be available for festival goers.
