Thanks, Joyce. I corrected the typo.

The dates would be great. Now, not to long ago someone contacted Steellife and at the time they did have hours by appointment. Do you think they're closed completely now?

Here are closed African American galleries:

1.Neleh (not Nileh)Galleries relocated to her Frank Lloyd Wright home. She has an outside job.
2. Nicole Gallery II at 47th and King Drive (Nicole Gallery in River West is still operating)
3. Ivy Dunn's Upstairs Gallery (think you added this one)
4. Steelelife Gallery (47th and King Drive)
5. Jonathan Romaine Gallery (north Milwaukee Ave.) relocated in another city
6. Griffin Gallery was in River North, has closed for periods of time and had two re-locations in the past coupe of years to save on cash outflow.
7. Artistic Jeanius (1700 block of S. Halsted; specialized in art and fashion.

Good to have a listing. Thanks for that.

I have a feeling that maybe more have closed though. The Chicago art scene still forgets certain segments of the population...even on the bad news. I know of two or three galleries with African American owners that have closed. I'll see if I can get details.
