Interview and Images – Thomas Robertello

Full Disclosure: I met Thomas Robertello, owner of Thomas Robertello gallery, through the gallery advertising on our site. In the process of working with him and seeing the space, I was captivated by his story of going from a collector to a gallerist. So now he’s not allowed to advertise so I can feature him.

He’s an incredibly interesting and totally candid guy, and a textbook case for why I love talking to art collectors. At around the 30 minute mark, I say, “not to psychoanalyze you..” and he says, “no, go ahead” and we talk about the art collection as self portrait.

It’s about loving art so much that you’re willing to lose your shirt over it. It’s powerful stuff.

All images in this post are from Robertello’s personal collection.
