Anti-Corporate is the New Corporate Art

Another recurring theme is this blog is the idea that by opposing something, you actually create it. I’m less of a supporter of Anne Elizabeth Moore’s world view (although I like her artwork) and more pro- Rebel Sell’s: Why the Culture Can’t be Jammed philosophy which places hipsters squarely AS the root of the problem, and laughs at them for thinking they’re the solution. Anti-corporate is the new corporate.

To quote: ”Does shopping differently, eating alternatively, listening against the grain of middlebrow harmonies truly undermine “the system”? The answer is a resounding no. Rather, counterculture has been fuelling the engines of consumer capitalism”

This is sort of an important thing to have an understanding of, if you’re going to follow this blog.
